Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon

There are many wines that you can taste, but we only have three (3) qualities that you should look out for. We are talking about the Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. These three come from burgundy and burgeon region in France that is an absolute in icons of classic style.

Pinot Noir is the great variety that has been grown in Burgundy since the twelfth (12th) century. The style is on the lighter end of the red wine spectrum. Even when you look at it using the glass, we could tell that there is a translucent to it and that is because the grape has relatively thin skins. Hence, the delivery of colour and flavour intensity to the wine is on the lighter end of the spectrum. However, the flavours that it does give are so seductive in desirable. The Pinot Noir is the most desired wines on our planet. They are coveted and desirable. It is a cool climate style that is a little brighter, red fruit aromatic of strawberries and raspberries combined. It is a lighter kind of red.

Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are both grapes that are planted in the same region, and are distantly related. When you plant it in Italy, you can tell that there has to be an aromatic resemblance.  However, when we plant them in sunny or warmer places, that has a divergence of aromatic sense and it is easier to tell them apart. Merlot tends to give us a little herbal quality to it. A little bit less of the earthiness can we find in Pinot Noir, and a bit darker in its fruit range. They are similar to blackberries and plums and less than strawberries and cranberries. When we encounter them in a cool place, we often get a woody character to it. It almost feels like roasted pepper because they are very well suited to food.

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the highly sophisticated on Earth. It makes the finest wine in Burdon. They are also known for long term potential and this is due to the fact that cabernet Sauvignon is a grape that are thinner in berries but thicker skin in the place. When we ferment them in the tank, it gives a double dose of color and flavour. Aromatically, Cabernet Sauvignon has a resemblance in Merlot in it’s fruit. They are definitely in the black fruit berry range. However, it adds to the flavour that will remind you of darker foods. It is considered a very much power house in terms of a wine. It delivers a great taste of flavour.

There is one grape that I would like to add to this major group because of the makings of the last ten to twenty years. It is what we call Shiraz which also came from France. In other countries and par of the world, Shiraz is also known as Syrah. So, now that we discuss these amazing red wines, let’s go to the beginning and go to the lightest wines of these wines. Are you excited to taste this wonderful wines? These wines take time to make but you will surely love them!
