16 Witty Remarks to “One Single Impression: Desert”

I love the ecology you wove into this haiku.
One feels the relaxing of the heat’s oppression allowing life to seek itself.
“Nocturnal fauna”, is great! Reminds me of HubbyDear and his nocturnal time clock.
Barb, lovely haiku in response to our prompt this week! Thank you for sharing!
It’s beautiful!
It is beautiful! And so interesting to read about. I remember seeing sidewinder tracks in the sand on trips across the desert when I was a kid.
..and who said the desert
is for the faint hearted?..
Lovely photo and poem. Evocative and Beautifully done.
wow, that is so good, Barb! I love the way the words wrap around my tongue, and I Love the image of all those little “faunas” digging for safety and food.
This is wonderful. I have done my own “foraging at dark” and know the experience of waiting out the day. Well done. Thanks.

I think you have picked out the essentials of desert survival - burrowing in the heat and foraging at dusk.
Foraging at dusk…I like that!

your words remind me of the starkness i felt in the desert…dusk is a beautiful time but you sense the creeping things stirring.
