Manic Monday: Rip

Our illustrious Manic Monday host Mo has served up Rip as this week’s prompt. I can’t wait to see what the other Manic Minions have done with it!
So many possibilities came to mind, but in the end I decided to go with the first Rip I thought of, which was Ripple Wine. I know, I know, you’re all surprised, right?
It was 1972 when I was first able to legally purchase and consume alcohol. In the aftermath of a night at the Drive-in drinking Seven & Sevens, I quickly discovered that I did not care for hard liquor - at all. It certainly was not my finest hour, but the lesson was very well learned. And that’s all I’m going to say about that!
Some of the drinks I tried and dismissed were Sloe Gin Fiz (doesn’t that just sound cute!) and Harvey Wallbangers (too sweet & too much acid). Someone eventually introduced me to Boones Farm and Ripple. They were both too sweet for me but I did like them enough to realize that red wine would be my drink of choice.

I will always remember my very first glass of a magnificent wine! Mmmmmm. A Wine lover was born! Château Lafite Rothschild - I just wish I could afford to drink it!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my little tRip down Memory Lane! I wish you all a wonderful Manic Monday!

Never tried it. But then again, I’m strictly a beer drinker.
Interesting post. You do learn new things everyday. Cool!
Happy MM!
Ripple. Seven and Sevens. Sloe Gin Fizz. Such memories! Glad I’ve moved onto good wine and ice cold beer.
The first thing that comes to mind for me with ‘rip’, is the snowstorm of white flecks that blows in on my carpets and floors each day from my own special weatherman, Thomas!
I think my first attempt at drinking was a harvey wallbanger. It was totally disgusting.
Thank goodness for “GRAPES”!!!
How can someone not make ripple wine anymore?
That’s just un-American!
i don’t think i ever had any but that should be no surprise to anyone! ha ha ha

I would love a glass myself
I like all dry red wines especially the Italian once. I don’t like sweet wines at all, they can be very dangerous, lol !
Awesome post on Rip and the random S & Son picture. Feeling nostalgic these days.
Not playing this week, but wanted to comment. Great take on the MM word today. I don’t think I ever tried this stuff either. I hear it was pretty nasty. I loved Redd Foxx! Have a great day.
Travis is doing water ripples today and that immediately made me think of Ripple wine, so bring a bottle over to my blog to drink with dinner.
I never had ripple. I do like red wine but then again I liked Boones Farm back in the day.
Wow! I haven’t thought of Ripple wine in ages! It was a good “starter” wine. LOL.
Ripple was something I never tried, but I hail from the land of E&J Gallo and I have consumed my share of $2 wine. GACK!
I’m not much of a wine drinker anymore, but if I do partake it has to be a nice merlot.
Great post!
Thanks for stopping by mine. I’m a day late and a dollar short (as usual). Hope ya have a great week.
Very good use for RIP! Mo nearly stumped me on that one. Thanks for visiting me…in case I forgot to tell ya.
