Manic Monday: Quake
This week when Mo gave us Quake for Manic Monday I’ll admit it…. I was stumped.
I went to Savannah, GA for a short get away weekend with some friends. This city is steeped in History and southern ambiance. Its’ first recorded history was in 1733, the year General James Oglethorpe and the 120 passengers of the good ship “Anne” landed on a bluff high along the Savannah River.

Johnny Mercer wrote the Lyrics to Moon River, having been inspired by the Savannah River and his Huckleberry childhood in Savannah.
Savannah is breathtaking in it’s beauty!
Live Oaks make my heart quake!
Want to play Manic Monday? That’s easy, just stop by Mo’s for more info.
Thanks for stopping by today.

8 Witty Remarks to “Manic Monday: Quake”

Some nice pictures there. Don’t worry, I cheated a bit on the ‘quake’ thing, too
Now a post that combines Johnny Mercer, beautiful pictures, and live oaks is quite an achievement. Don Williams has a song with a line that always seemed magic:
“And I still hear the soft southern wind in the live oak trees”
Very well done. It is indeed beautiful in Savannah. Have a great MM.
I’d love to see it
I love my digital camera and that itty bitty memory card that holds so much of my life!
Great post and wonderful pictures.
Happy MM.

Great shots that remind me of the very old oaks we have in and near New Orleans. There is a place called Oak Alley near a plantation that reminds me of one of the pics. Georgia is truly beautiful!
did you eat at paula deen’s???
