		<description>I hate hearing stories like that.  It didn't even occur to me that I might be bipolar, and no one had suggested a mental illness to me, and I didn't get diagnosed until I was 26 and had a huge meltdown wherein I checked myself into the hospital.  It is a shame that your niece won't even consider the possibility, because for me at least, finding the right combo of meds has made an enormous difference in my life, much for the better, and though I hate the fact that I have BD, I am so happy that I did get diagnosed and am being treated.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Carolyn&lt;br/&gt;http://diaryofabipolar.wordpress.com/</description>
